So, today was my first day as an R.I.T intern and we basically did no work. We started in the Red Barn playing games, which was fun and I got to know most of the other interns. We ate lunch at crossroads for free, which had awesome pizza!! After lunch we went on a tour and we were shown Java Wally's, which looked cool, plus another ice cream stand which I will make a point of visiting very soon. Then our Visual Perception group got together and we learned about some of the equipment we will be using, although most of the info went right over my head.
One thing that I did learn was that some of the equipment was really expensive (In other words I learned to make sure that I didn't break any of it). The people that were in the lab today( I'm not really sure but I think they are grad students) helped us out by showing us some software, the eye trackers, and basically what they are used for. Tomorrow will probably be more of learning about the equipment and me not understanding any of it but I'm sure someone will help me out. However, Jane, Matt, and Aj are pretty awesome and I look forward to working with them.
P.S. I still have not met Jeff Pelz and he is beginning to seem like a mystery man!!
